Why do you think people have issues with gelatin – glutamates? Histamines? Fodmaps? I can’t tolerate it or l-glutamine. Not even meat stock which is said to be much gentler than bone broth

Good question @bodysoulwellness! It’s hard to say exactly without knowing more history, as each person is different. But what we can say is: glutamate is an amino acid that has an EXCITATORY effect on the nervous system. We find that people with leaky guts and (more often) with leaky brain barriers don’t tolerate the neural activating properties until they strengthen ALL their barrier systems and balance their brain. That’s why we always use a combination of functional medicine AND functions neurology to help people fully recover.

Thanks, That makes total sense! It’s interesting that more people don’t have an issue with it seeing as to how many of us have leaky guts (and thus brains) but I’m just way more sensitive than the avg person! Heal leaky gut and the blood brain barrier will follow or not that simple?
