The TWO major signs of unstable blood sugar are:
1️⃣Functional Hypoglycemia: “hangry”, irritable, shaky, tired between or before meals. Eating energizes you.
2️⃣Borderline Insulin Resistance: “food coma”, tired, slow, dazed after meals. Eating puts you to sleep.
People experience one or both of these and brush it off as “normal”. The thing is, you shouldn’t feel any energy changes before or after meals! If you do, your cells are not receiving a stable amount of fuel and oxygen.
The best way to stabilize that roller coaster is to eat consistent and small meals every 2-3 hours, increase good fats, decrease carbs and stay active. If you feel unsatisfied or crave carbs, EAT MORE FAT! Avocados, coconut oils and creams, olive oil, pastured animal fats.
This unglamorous and delicious lunch was made in 10 mins. And I was left feeling totally satisfied and clear-headed. No food-coma, no bloated belly, no dessert craving. That’s what stable blood sugar feels like and it is possible!
